Since you posted in Charlotte forum Charlotte is very diverse. Larger cities in this State are more diverse than rural areas in most cases. For demographics click above where it says city-data.com and you can check out demographics of any city in this state.
North Carolina Bigger Cities (over 6000 residents)

It provides information like below

I dont know about the entire state, but Charlotte is very diverse. Obviously the smaller towns in NC may have more of that clique feel. We have come across people from all walks of life. That is one reason why we love the area so much. Everyone seems to accept people for who they are.

...unless you state in a public forum that you do not like NASCAR, that your friends do not like NASCAR, and that you endure the congestion and people at the uptown festivals anyway.

Reading comprehension is a beautiful thing, Tom. I'd like to refer you to the post that you all originally got your panties in a bunch about where I said "Charlotte is what it is and I'll deal with it 2 weeks out of the year."

Duh.

But Charlotte is what it is, part of NASCAR land. So I'll endure it 2 times a year and return to my theater, business suits, and martinis the rest of the year.
