Venture/Outdoor Groups for Singles (Charlotte: cost of, activities, rating)

In some of the recent singles threads I read about Venture Club, a group that targets singles for various social/community events and a group for single and married people called something like Charlotte Outdoor, obviously concentrating on outdoor activities. Is there anyone on this board that has some experience with either group? Are they fun, welcoming? Worth the cost of membership? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Carolinas Outdoor Adventures - the largest and most active outdoor sport and social organization in Charlotte and greater Carolinas
