You really do not want to live in 28208.

Don't know Fairstone, but 28269 is a better choice.

Why don't I want to live in 28208? Crime? Poverty? Or just a down right lousy place to live? Thanks for that though, I'll definitely avoid that area.

High crime, high poverty, prostitution - there are just so many better areas to choose from

I live in 28269 right now and I have yet to see a bad neighborhood. I am very impressed with how nice people in this area are and I live right off of Harris Blvd!

My husband is a commercial pilot and will be flying out of CLT international airport. So, we'd like to stay within an hour, rush hour included, of the airport. And his first year pay is pretty lame so we need a cheap but nice place to rent.

Becky, not sure what you consider cheap, can you share that so we can make some suggestions for places?

I need a 3 bedroom/2bath for $800 or less. Or a 2 bed/2bath with an office space. In Charlotte or surrounding area. 1 hour or less from the airport. Prefer a house with a yard but a townhouse or apt. would be okay. If anyone can let me know of some property managers that would be great. I know of T.R.Lawring, Klutts Property Management, Elite Team, and Elder Broach.

yikes! the closest thing I've seen to that was back in May at Colonial Grand Legacy park. They had what they called a 2 bdrm w/ study. The study was actually just like a 3rd bedroom with its own walk in closet but you had to walk through it to get to the main bedroom. They included an actual washer and dryer with the apt and included cable. The rent was 963. We only needed 1 bedroom, but 2 was more what we wanted, while 3 was too much space for us, so we got a 2 bedroom for 800 a month. Do you have kids? Do you work, or just your husband? Seems like an extra 100 or 200 a month would be worth being close to work and in a decent area. If both of you work thats only b/t 12 and 25 extra dollars a week you each need to make.
