Decent food, reasonable prices. Nothing extra special or anything, but, a good place for comfort food or when you have a group. Probably the biggest thing going for it is the decent prices.
PS: there is one on Harris Blvd. in Charlotte. Go there about every couple of months.

I was just at the one in the University City area recently. I wasn't overly impressed. I had a hard time finding something that I was excited to eat on the menu, but what I got was OK. One of the people in our group who is from Michigan said that the menu is different here, more of a southern flair. I saw a bunch of ribs and chicken fried steaks going by while waiting. She did say though that their ultimate cookie(or something like that) was really good...apparently cookie dough fried in a skillet, topped with ice cream and hot fudge.
Cheddars is great for a cheap casual place. This thread proves most know nothing about food. Almost everything is made from scratch here. (IE chicken tenders are breaded in house, and not frozen) I been to the one on harris a few times, and always have been impressed with it. Its a great bargain. Probably one of the best casual restaurants out there. I hope they keep it that way and don't bastardize the chain like so many before it

Thanks, everyone. All of your responses made me wonder why I was only seeing restaurants in MO & KS, so I went back to the locations page & found it.
At first when they started building it, it was reminiscent of the old Steak & Ale chain's buildings, I wondered what kind of place it is. The Charlotte menu is quite different. . . a lot less fish
I really don't eat out, but was curious. It's a nice looking building, between the new Gastonia Nissan & Earl Tindol, across from the new Target. I hope they do well.
