We live in Union County near Waxhaw.

I have a garage door opener (motor) that may need to be replaced.

Has anyone out there ever done this or do I need a repairman to do it?

I have called two so called "local handimen", but no returned phone calls.

Good luck.

Let us know if you find someone good.

I often need a good repairman and my 'catch all' guy moved to Bethesda, MD. Now I can't seem to find a good handyman.

I think business is so good for these guys, so they just kinda work when they feel like it.

You problems are my problems too!

We had a similar problem - our garage door was an Overhead Door brand. We found that Home Depot carries those, so we were able to get what we needed to repair ours at Home Depot.

Default Vinyl Siding

We're looking at homes with hardboard siding that are around 20 years old. Has anyone out there replaced hardboard siding on their home? Any ball park price 'guestimates'?

Just had Cox Door out this morning (less than 2 hours from the time of my call) and the service technician (Scott) was great. He replaced the 2 door springs at the quoted price of $250 (incl. tax) within 30 minutes and then checked for proper operation of the opener (replaced two light bulbs with correct wattage bulbs, replaced one damaged light socket, replaced one damaged door roller, gave me a spare 12 volt battery for the exterior key pad, and greased all hinge points, rollers and springs at no extra charge). I was very impressed with Scott's professional work and friendly demeanor. Thanks for the recommendation!
