What is being reported the new owner plans to give the complex $15 million in renovations and more family friendly restaurants gym.
Italian restaurant, La Tagliatela and Hibachi Grill and Golds Gym have all sign new leases.
Digital advertising has been added as well as Epicentre logo in several places also a ticker-tape digital display with news and other information is being installed at the corner of Trade and College streets.
Hey new owner what about adding a down escalator .
How about some RETAIL? We have a million choices for lunch here but nowhere to shop. I would spend some $$ at a Banana Republic, The Limited, Express, etc.
My thoughts too. Especially consider retail lacks big time in Uptown. I was really hoping when Epicentre was new, that it would be catalyst in start of giving retail options. I was hoping it would be an outdoor mall.
Perfect for those that dont have the right attire for the Mez could just visit a store to get correct attire.
This would be perfect spot for H&M, the demographics type of patrons that visit Epicentre fit H&M ideal customers.
Is the bowling alley there, that is still owned partially by the OLD epicenter owner and Ghazi paying rent yet?
Bowling Alley is still there. Blue Air llc is the new owners under the court-approved liquidation plan, Blue Air gains control of the EpiCentre’s movie theater, the parking revenue and the ad contracts. The investment group also acquired the development rights for a condominium project on the building’s rooftop, a site previously intended for the failed 210 Trade residential tower, under a settlement with Ghazi and Cornelson.
Epicentre sold again, entertainment complex has been sold to Los Angeles-based CIM Group for $130.5 million.
The real-estate firm also owns downtown's BB&T Center office tower. Charlotte-based Vision Ventures and Mount Vernon Asset Management bought the EpiCentre in 2010 after its original owners lost ownership in 2012 during a foreclosure..
Some less sucky restaurants would be nice. I've eaten at almost all the places and like very few.
I agree, a couple are good and the rest are just generic. I think they need an high-end Asian restaurant, a quality West-Coast-esque sushi bar with the conveyor belt and everything, and a Spanish style restaurant (not just tapas). Charlotte is getting better but it lacks unique and different places to eat, but like I said it is getting better.
