Before you pop off about what you have no clue about take a step back and think about the fact that the CITY of Charlotte maintains a AAA bond rating, a rare feat for a local government. And Fox has presided over some of the smallest (as in NONEXISTENT) bond packages I can remember.

This is because Foxx has spent a huge amount of money from previously approved, but unspent, bond packages. A bond package is nothing more than an approval by the voters to allow spending in the future. It doesn't require the money be spent and the city does not take the debt burden until the bond money is used. A very glaring example, the irresponsible Eastland Mall purchase was made possible by taking $13M+ from a $15M bond package for neighborhood improvements that was approved before Foxx became Mayor.
Of course Foxx wants a 10% property tax increase to pay for his streetcar project to JC Smith University.
It should be noted, I believe, that the city's bond rating might be in trouble because it has been floated as one of the reasons for needing to raise more taxes.

Eh, I disagree. I don't wanna clog AD's thread anymore than I have, but I'll start a thread later where we can discuss it further if you like. I'd like to flesh out some fact from fiction. It would be cathartic, and who knows... Maybe we will ALL learn something.
So the CITY's mayor is running the COUNTY into the ground? Very interesting.
Here's an idea, try to have an actual fact or bone of contention before you show how much you really don't know.
That was my first reaction too then I thought about his consolidation goals. Given the chance to be King of Mecklenburg County he would take it. If Charlotte was "run into the ground" then the other cities would be impacted. And I can't believe more people aren't balking at the proposed tax hikes.
GOOD:
2012 is bringing real signs of recovery to our City. My optimism is guarded, but it's there.
BAD:
This community's lack of vision and foresight. Sometimes I think that every short-sighted, greedy, uncreative, stick-in-the-mud this side of Canada decided to move to Charlotte and live between Hwy 51 and Indianland.
UGLY:
The divisive rhetoric fueled by know-nothing dipshi* politicians like Vilma "Where Mine At" Leake and Bill "Leaky Brain" James
WEIRD:
The urban east side between the P-Stone and NoDa. And that's the way we like it. Don't bother visiting if you have to ask where to park... geeeesh.
