Oh yeah, I can't wait to sit out on one of those patio bars overlooking Lake Norman and have myself a drink.

You're welcome for the post. It was a "labor" of love. It's such a great area. I'm 41 and a native and I don't think most people know just how much there is to do around here. If you're "bored" around here, then you're not looking. Yes, if you're in the Lake Norman area, do check out Birkdale Village. When I was writing the thread, I was just writing from the top of my head and knew I would for get some great places. I also want to throw in the Carolina Raptor Center outside of Huntersville. It's in a 700-acre+ nature preserve (Latta Plantation Park) and is an awesome place to see birds of prey. It serves as a rehab center for the birds. My family loves it. Too, many people who visit here from Europe comment on how the uptown outdoor cafe's remind them of the ones in their home countries. Anyway, I just want everyone to enjoy the area as much as my family does!!!

All I can say is W-O-W. I just checked out their website. Saw Fox & Hound English Pub & Restaurant listed CharlotteAgent! Also Cafe Mia - gelato! (Can you tell where my priorities lie?) The shopping looks like big, big trouble!
Thanks for the tip a1m1700 - it's on the list!

I'll tell you coming from the I-85/I-77 interchange:

*Take I-85 north.

*Take exit 45-A (Harris Blvd.) and go right at the top of the ramp.

*After you cross the large Tryon St. intersection, start looking for Rocky River Rd. (Stop light). Turn left onto Rocky River Rd.

*Keep on Rocky River and the park enterance will be on the right.

Like charlotteagent said, I hope the weather cooperates for you. Enjoy!!!

I can help

From the university area head south on WT Harris Blvd. Take a left on Rocky River Road (about 2 miles at the most?) The entrance to the park will be on the right within a short distance. This park has a great disc golf course. You can do 9 or 18 "holes". It is a great way to see the park and fun to play

Thank you all! I found it and I checked the weather and it looks like the surprise picnic I had planned won't be happening. Oh well, Charlotte is wonderful and we can find lots of other stuff to do!
