Hi everyone - My S.O. & I have been in Charlotte for a year now, we currently live in the Hickory Ridge neighborhood in an apartment complex. The complex was recently sold, and seems like tenant requirements have dwindled. Long story short, trash everywhere now, break-ins, etc & we would like to find somewhere safer as well as nicer.

He works off of I-85S exit 29 (Sam Wilson Rd) & I work off of 7th Street. He wants to be closer to work if possible. We're ok with either a house (that would be great), apartment, townhouse, etc. No kids so schools aren't an issue.

Everything's either way out of our budget or in a questionable area. We'd like to stay in the $800-$900 range for rent, but we're flexible if we find the right place. Not looking to buy yet. No rent to own. No "keys being mailed when we get your $" stuff.

Any advice regarding location is welcome thanks in advance!

How do you feel about living in a small town? If the answer's yes, you might want to check out Mount Holly. Huntersville might have something too.

Outside of that, you might want to check Dilworth, though that can get pricy.
