Where Can I Get A Flu Shot in Charlotte?

While your primary care physician should always be your first phone call for the flu shot there are places all over Charlotte that offer flu shot clinics, or designated times in which they provide flu shots. To find one of these clinics visit the Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence's Flu Clinic Finder.
Minute Clinics
Charlotte area Minute Clinics also provide flu shots to anyone who walks in asking for one. Minute Clinics are located inside CVS Pharmacies.

Walgreens In-Store Flu Vaccination Program Charlotte area Walgreens also offer an In-Store Flu Vaccination Program where visitors will receive flu shots on specified dates by calling your store to schedule an appointment.

CMC-Express
CMC (Carolinas Medical Center) has an express facility located inside the Harris Teeter in Matthews at 1811 Matthews Township Parkway, Matthews, NC 28105. This facility operates in much the same manner as a minute clinic and provides many of the same services including flu shots.

Mecklenburg County Health Department
The Mecklenburg County Health Department provides flu shots by appointment from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at both the Southeast Campus (249 Billingsley Rd.) and the Northwest Campus (2845 Beatties Ford Road). It seems Baptist Memorial Health Care has been giving free flu vaccines since 2003. Reach out to them.

Can you clarify their relationship to the Charlotte area? It appears that they have no locations in NC. And if you're speaking of Wake Forest then that's a hike too.

There is an ipad app called "flu near you", for those with ipads. I downloaded it yesterday. I basically uses the built in locator and gives you reported flu cases near you.

Just be aware that this will help with one strain of the flu, a lot of people are getting another one per RN friends that I have, so practice good hygene and take preventative measures to keep yourself healthy.

From the CDC: CDC - Seasonal Influenza (Flu) - CDC Says Take 3 Actions To Fight The Flu

One interesting tip on ABC News last night was to use your knuckle to press an elevator button. People tend to make a lot of finger to face contact but it's more unlikely that you would do so with your knuckle.

I never get a flu shot and I never get the flu...

not bragging, knock on wood... just wondering how many people are getting the flu every year even though they get the shot.

Every year I take the flu shot and end up coming down the with the flu. This year I didn't get it and have come down with something. I don't think it's the flu yet because it's just in my chest and I've lost my voice. Will see how it goes on from here. Am still working though! I'm a tough gal! LOL
