I was hoping people will post the brand/caliber as well.
The Dixie Gun & Knife show, holds gun shows in Charlotte (at Metrolina), Raleigh and Wilkesboro. This weekend at their usual event in Raleigh, someone was unzipping a shotgun bag, and ended up accidentally shooting 3 people. Someone shot themselves at one of the Charlotte shows last August.
A reminder to be on the on the lookout when searching for your weapon related needs.
You know if the thought of owning a gun seems to be too expensive of a proposition just go to any home improvement store & buy a cordless nail gun. Those things can shoot a 16D nail out to 100 yards.

Interesting. I've got a high pressure pneumatic coil gun that will throw a 3.5 inch ring shank nail completely into fairly dense pressure treated wood. It packs quite a wallop and takes a bit of strength to use. A special compressor just to activate it since most of the home versions don't generate enough pressure. Yet, there is no way that it could be used as a gun. There are two triggers that have to be activated simultaneously and the nose trigger would be very difficult, if not impossible to push in with just your hand.
All-in-all, it's good to have a weapon for home protection, in my opinion, a semi-automatic weapon and automatic weapon is over-the-top. However, using it for sport (at the range, etc) and marksmanship which I have done is quite understandable, it's an adrenaline rush. I do not support the "gun" ban but anything that makes it a nuisance or difficult for certain types of unstable people in society from getting certain types of weapons. is justifiable.

Yes and love it! Is it over the top for home protection? Of course. As realist, I understand the gun "ban" isn't going to impact the vast majority of weapons. No matter the ultra-promotion of fear by some, I will not go screaming into the good night about the gubment taking away freedoms and guns. It's absolutely impossible to stop the sale of guns in the US (open or black market)...much like trying the stop the influx if illegal immigrants by putting up a fence along the border. However the gun ban and fence are good natured symbolisms for appeasing some folk no matter how effective or ineffective.
Though there really is some good info in many of the post....good thread.
