I'm planning a couple of weekends in Charlotte in the next few months. One is for a Bobcats game and I'll have my kids, 5 and 7 with me. One the other weekend it will be just me and hubby for a concert. Can I get your suggestions on hotels/ restaurants downtown, preferably walking distance to the Time Warner Center. We are goodies, so would love a great restaurant suggestion for when it's just me and hubby. Thanks in advance!

It's going to depend on your price range. There's plenty of Uptown hotels, but they're all going to be a little more expensive because they're in Uptown. Obviously the upscale names are going to cost the most.

I'm willing to go expensive when it's just me and the hubby. Is the ritz Carlton the best option? Can Iwalk to time Warner? Is there a more reasonable option for the family weekend?

Holiday Inn is in walking distance and reasonable.

If you've considered renting a condo here's one that's on 4th ward park. Walking distance to all the museums and restaurants and TWC arena.
Vacationrentals.com 2 bedroom Condo sleeps 2 in Charlotte, North Carolina - Uptown on the Park
Says it sleeps 2 but in 2 bedrooms so maybe there's a typo?

Yes, the Ritz-Carlton is within walking distance to TWC Arena. Rooms start at $449.

For the family weekend, check out Aloft at the EpiCentre ($199), the HYATT House ($161) or the Omni ($127).

The HYATT is definitely the closest.

Thanks for the hotel recommendations. How about restaurants? Anywhere really special to go with the hubby?

I'd recommend The Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris and Fleming's.

I've also had great experiences at BLT Steak, which is located at the Ritz-Carlton.
