Hi All,

I am 29,m single and will be moving to Charlotte over the first week of Feb., would be working in the Yorkmount area (South Charlotte). I have been living in Indiana and have never been to Charlotte before and thus have very little idea on how to go about renting an apartment there.

Intent is to take up a 1BHK or a Studio around the Yorkmount area ( should be less than a 20 min Drive), rent 600-800$, and has a decent management.

I have tried looking around the different websites over the past few days, but it has been a very confusing experience. Different sites list an apartment as good while others paint a different picture altogether. Was hoping to gain some insight into this with your help !

Pointers to the best Internet (over all) service, Cable TV service would also be wonderful.

I would have very little time at hand switching between assignments, so would have to move to Charlotte and then finalize the lease, I was wondering if there are any decent extended stay hotels in Charlotte.

Also please feel free to point out if you believe my expectations w.r.t rent are not aligned with the norm @ charlotte.

Thanks in advance.

You don't want to be too close to Yorkmount. Just kind of industrial. You might look at some of the apartment complexes on Park Road, close to Montford. Fun, vibrant area with lots to do and an easy commute.

If you find one you are interested in, call and ask them to give you a skype tour. Its much better than looking at the pictures of their nicest apartment then moving into the basement pit
