Hello,

I'm interested in the commute from Davidson/Huntersville to Charlotte during rush hour. Everyone says its bad, but are we talking 30 minutes or an hour?

Thanks.

about 30-45 if there is a wreck look at it pushing the 45 mins mark easy.

I would plan on an hour. I-77 is not a road that I want to be on during 'rush hour.'

Davidson and Huntersville are not close enough commute wise to say "Davidson/Huntersville." Even the difference between exit 25 and 28 can mean an extra 10-15 minutes.

It depends on what exit in Huntersville you will be off of during rush hour:

1. If exit 18 (Charlotte/Huntersville), the commute downtown would be 15 minutes

2. If exit 23 (Huntersville), then you can likely get downtown in 25 minutes

3. If exit 25 (Huntersville/Cornelius), 35 minute commute to downtown

4. If exit 28 (Cornelius), count on 45 minutes to downtown

5. If exit 30 (Davidson), count on a minimum 1 hour to get downtown

I am at exit 23 in Huntersville, and make it kitchen to desk in 25-30 minutes during rush hour.

I have two co-workers at exit 30 in Davidson and they report a pretty consistent 45-50 minutes.

It also really depends on what time you leave. 20 minutes earlier in the morning could mean the difference b/t a shorter and longer commute time. Its all about when everyone else is going to work.

This is true. Exit 30 is a good solid hour to be on the safe side. And always wake up in the morning to the traffic report in case there is a wreck you need to know about.
