Hi there:
We are coming to Charlotte from Raleigh, and need to find a hotel room for Saturday night. I am trying to find something under $130, and I'm not having any luck IN Charlotte. Can someone suggest something along the route from Raleigh (85)....within 30-45 minutes of downtown Charlotte?

I'm looking at the cities but don't know what is safe...any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

You can stay in Concord off of I85 if you want. There are some nice looking hotels off Bruton Smith Blvd. They are between I85 and the racetrack. There are lots of food choices in the area too.

Yes, look around Concord Mills off I85. Tons of chain hotels with lots to eat and do, including mall and Bass Pro Shop.

You are having a problem because of the CIAA basketball tournament

Yes, that basketball tournament is going to limit your options. We stayed at the Hyatt Place Arrowood Saturday night. Had a great suite and it was under $100 but I think they maybe sold out this coming weekend or the price will be higher due to the demand.

Other people have said this, but I want to concur: Concord along 85 is for sure the place to look. Also, the Northlake area in CLT (near the mall) has some options. Both are totally safe.

Thanks for the suggestions...checked the Hyatt Place, no vacancies . I'm not coming up with anything in Charlotte in our price range. Any suggestions for cities outside, but close to, Charlotte? Any good suburban areas? Thanks!

There's the embassy Suites & a Marriott in Concord along Burton Smith (near the racetrack). There's also an extended stay.
