this is why Charlotte makes so much off this event. They charge crazy amounts for the parties and charge 15 to 20 for a shot of Patrone.

The crazy thing is.. the people are willing to pay because it's one weekend out of the year and 75% of the visitors are college alum or college students and this is their spring break/reunion.

I think we are going on Saturday. I was just told last night that we were given tickets. I think we will make a night out of it and have dinner in Uptown.

It's just one weekend for pete's sake...no different that the massive crowd for speed street. If you're implying troublemaking associated with the CIAA...I hate to bust your bubble but the event is older than the ACC tournament, and third most attended behind the ACC and Big East tournament....sooner or later might be a long later....

It's a duel blessing that you're no longer here.

Exactly...! I heard of the crazy price gouging and increases but I couldn't believe it, had to see it for myself. lol After waiting for about 3hours to get into downtown, I wasn't going to turn around. I sadly paid those insane prices and said I would never do it again. lol

Then once we got inside, we couldn't even move... It was slammmmmmmmmmmed packed wall to wall. My mind was blown because I assumed every person there paid those same prices to get in. In the end, at least it's a great revenue generator for the city.

I'm a bit surprised that Bill Maher's people didn't do a bit more research before booking him into the Belk Theater for Saturday night. The CIAA is definitely not his crowd.

I will be participating in the mayhem all weekend. Have 9 friends in from NYC and we plan to turn it out in a good way. Parties, parties and great food...all around Charlotte. Have to show them a general feel of our great city.

That's the thing about living in a city. More than one "crowd" can co-exist at the same place and time.
