I see that the weather report says it's raining. Is it really? Just like, a splat or real rain?

Send some rain out to Cali too!!!

Ugh, it's horrible. They are everywhere! Luckily we live close enough to the beach that we're not really in danger. I smelled them coming in at about 3 on Sunday. We're about 20 miles away from them but my husband's work is really close by (the one in Santiago Canyon in Irvine). The wind has been high for the last few days so the smell wasn't as bad. Walked out this morning and the ashes are starting to settle everywhere and the smoke is thick in the sky - the sun was red. It's pretty eerie when it gets like that. This is the exact same week when the last bad set came through 4 years ago. It's crazy.

Yeah, those fires seem to come like clock-work every few years. I pray for all of you out there. My family still lives there and I worry constantly during these fires. So far they are all ok. But still..all within only miles of several different fires. As for rain--we got a nice rain last night but today it seems to be going perfectly around our area---darn!! I keep watching the radar and it's as though we have a "high" just over our area. Just our luck!!I keep hoping though. Would love to send some in the direction of CA right now. We are in Stanly county.

It's been raining in Steele Creek for several hours; mostly drizzle, but I'll take any moisture!
