There is some good and some bad to the westside of Charlotte. Lots of people move to Charlotte and snurl their nose up at the westside, because they think its all ghetto. Not true. Yes there are some parts I would not be caught dead in after dark, but also there are some really nice neighborhoods as well. I call them "hidden pockets". Don't write the westside off just yet. There are some possibilities there.

Agree with WCB, there is good and bad. What do you mean you dont want to "put with same stuff" like what?

It really depends on where you're at in West Charlotte. You might hear that it is more dangerous, but blanket statements like that can be deceiving. I lived in south-west Charlotte and never felt unsafe. Depending on where you're at, you can be close to Uptown as well, which is a benefit. If you let folks on this board know what part you're looking into, it will probably be more helpful to you.

You should ask him and google it. Odds are, you should be able to use the google maps street view to get an idea on the surrounding area without actually having to travel there.

If your living near the college you will be ok especially day time. The iffy area on Beatties Ford is closer to Hwy 16 to La Salle.
