Supposedly, Jimmy Fallon will replace Jay Leno, and the show will move to NY. It would be amazing if we could lure it to Charlotte. While the Eastland Mall would be the logical location, the Epicenter would be the best spot for live broadcasts.

What do people think?

I don't see many celebrities that would make a special trip to Charlotte just to tape a 5 - 10 minute interview. Plus the audience would be weak since Charlotte is not a tourist destination on the scale of NYC or LA.

But Angie Harmon lives here, and Mandy Potimpkin is buying here too. If more celebrities came and saw Charlotte, they might move here due to the massive cost differential over LA and NY.

Also, If the show were lured here, tourists would follow. We could promote the City's existing attractions like the NASCAR HOF and planned attractions like the Knights' stadium and the aquarium at the Concord Mills.

I'll play along with the wild fantasy.

How on earth would Eastland mall be a logical choice? It is a dump of a building in a one of the worst parts of the city, who would make up the audience thugs and drug dealers. No celebrity would step foot any where around this area.

Epicenter is to small.

And back to reality

All in all the city of Charlotte is to small a market to host the tonight show.

There is a reason they are buying here, it is so they can be left alone, more attention the city gets you will see these houses going up for sale. People who make the amount of money they make do not care about cost differential especially when buying a second or third home.

Nascar HOF, Knights Stadium, an aquarium at a mall are not world class attractions. The Guggenhiem, the Met, Yankee Stadium, Empire State, Statue of liberty are world class attractions that people would travel to.

I had to be a naysayer, but this would never happen. These shows will always be in LA and New York if for nothing else, because that is where most of the studios are and thus most of the celeberities. You're not getting Robert DeNiro to hop on a plane to Charlotte just to be on The Tonight Show.

Also, they will have to pry the show from the cold, dead hands of Jay Leno. He can play innocent all he wants but I am sure he had more to do with the recent debacle than he will admit. Granted, Conan was a bad idea for the host and a "Jay Leno Show" was even a worse one and that's on the network.

I think this is possible. Homeland films here. If movie stars were aware of the world class shopping and dining opportunities at South Park, Blakeney, etc., together with great housing values, and a climate like LA's, I think that more would relocate here.

World class shopping compared to Rodeo Drive?

Not possible and you can't be serious.

What stores do Rodeo Dr or NYC have that South Park does not? South Park is always improving. We're getting a David Yurman.

Also, apart from high end stores, we have essential stuff like Target and Walmart. NYC lacks these stores.
