Howdy folks! I'll be moving to Charlotte in June and will work at the Carolinas Medical Center in Uptown. I'm not too familiar with the area but from what I've researched on the internet the immediate area- Ft. Myers, Dilworth- is pretty expensive.

I'm looking for a 3 br condo/single family place close-by but in a safe area and within a relatively short commute to work. Can anyone recommend any areas to look in?

Price range?

Define close by.

Are you open to apartments, instead of condos?

Need a few more details. Do you need schools? Have certain interests? Price range? What do you consider a short commute?

My price range is around $150k, which I know won't do much for me in the immediate proximity. Id love to be within a 25 min commute with morning traffic. I don't have any kids so schools are a non-issue, but I would like to be in a safe place.

I'd be open to rent an apartment as well, looking for a max rent of around $1150.

Thanks for all of your help!

No single family homes for that price but you should be able to find some decent condos in Southend, Dilworth, or southpark.

Would you prefer to be in walking distance to good shops, bars, and food or would you rather be further out in the suburbs?

Welcome to Charlotte! There are many condos uptown for under 150K, but unfortunately they don't have 3 bedrooms. There are a couple of 3 BR condos in Dilworth that are in the 120K-130K range. You may also want to consider going a little further south (South Park area has some nice condos and wouldn't be a bad commute). There are also condos/apartments/single family homes for rent in those areas. Let me know if you need any help. Good luck!
