I have a question about bringing attention to a company that I think treated me unfairly.. Is it ok to make a sign saying something like "JOHN DOE INSURANCE COMPANY TREATED ME UNFAIRLY" and then walk back and forth on the side walk in front of the store? I want to teach some jerks a lesson..I guess a call to the police can tel me of the local laws about such things but wondered if anyone here knew..thanks

Call the Fire Dept first, then try the Police..

if that doesn't work, call the cab company.

If you only "think" you've been treated unfairly, you probably shouldn't be picketing the business.

Then again, it would be fun to see you on the news when you're being arrested.

Regardless, if it is a legitimate complaint, the department of insurance will take care of it. They are still pursuing the people that gave me a fake insurance declaration page to say that they had insurance when they replaced my roof. It is gratifying that they are taking such an interest. Yes, I know that it is a crime, and they SHOULD look into it, but, we've all had the experience that gov't looks the other way in such matters.

all that to say, crestliner, that if your complaint is legit, the DOI will take care of it properly.

Send the CEO of the company a polite letter explaining how you have been treated unfairly and be very clear. Explain how you expect the issue to be resolved. Note at the bottom of the letter a cc: Wayne Goodwin, Commissioner. CEO's HATE to get a letter with a cc to the Commissioner who signs the company's certificate whereby they can sell insurance in NC. If this is indeed a legitimate claim, some company rep you have been dealing with is going to get a call or email from someone very high up in the company with the message - "FIX THIS." Again, this should be a legitimate issue.

Arrested for what? what charge would be listed on his charging documents. As long as he is on a public sidewalk or leaves when told to on private property, he would be breaking no laws.
