Friend of mine is having some issues and is in need of a really good/aggressive Child Custody lawyer in our area. She is new to town and I don't really know anyone so figured I post here and see if you all would be able to help me.

Thanks

In the Charlotte area, the firm with the reputation of being aggressive is James, McElroy and Diehl:

Charlotte, North Carolina Attorneys | James McElroy & Diehl Attorneys at Law 704-372-9870

However, if I could give some advice from someone who has been there, done that. Divorce is very expensive. The aggressive firms don't come cheap. You can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting with each other and at the end of the day, the only ones who come out ahead are the attorneys. Make every effort to come to common ground and save your dollars for something productive.

If you absolutely cannot resolve your differences without an attorney, then please use an attorney within the county where your case will be heard. This will save you a lot of money, because they can pop in and out of the courtroom and only bill you for the time spent in your case. If you bring someone in from outside your county, you will be billed for the whole day...even if your case does not even get heard that day.

This is advice I wish someone had shared with me as a friend to someone going through a tough divorce. Courts are very crowded, and they don't truly have time to listen to you squabble over who is the bigger Jack Ass. Find a mediator, work through the issues, and move on.

Thanks for the info; I will definitely give it to her. I don't really know the whole situation but was just trying to give her some names to help her out.
