Hi All! Some advice/experiences desired. We are moving to Waxhaw in June. We currently have Directv in NJ and are happy with it - we will be keeping it for our TV service. But, we were wondering about bundling their phone and internet with it. Has anyone done this? If we choose not to, what are our options for phone and internet service? Thanks!

We switched to DirecTv last fall, wanted to leave Time Warner completely. That wasn't possible with DirecTv here (where I am, maybe they offer internet elsewhere nearby), they had no "partner". SO, I split everything up. DirecTv for TV, Time Warner for internet (unfortunately, the only reliable option here, I work from home so need it to be reliable), and Ooma for phone. I'm still paying about what I did when I was bundled with Time Warner, but have better TV options, if we had added the whole house DVR to time warner it would have cost a lot more.

I have DTV and love it. TW was horrible for their tv service. TW slams satelliteby stating that since TW runs their cables underground and they do not have the same problems DTV and Dish have since they are not affected by weather. We lost service many times with TW, and would always be told that they would send out a tech, usually 3-4 days later meaning we had no service. I have had DTV for almost.4 years and only had two service issues. Both times, I had someone show up very next day.

However, we do use TW for wireless...DTV bundles through an third party ISP...the reviews of.this company are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

Most likely Windstream for wireline phone and DSL (up to 12mb) or Time Warner for VOIP phone and cable modem (up to 50mb).

Thanks! Look like it will be a DTV/Time Warner combo.

Just left Time Warner this weekend and jumped into Dish. Dish is bundled with Windstream. We now have all our phones/dsl/tv in one place. Time Warner internet sucks. We have had Windstream since they took over Alltel and have not had any problems. Run don't walk away from Time Warner.

The only problem I have with Time Warner Cable is the DVR will sometimes mess up but that is probably due to the machine being 4 years old. I haven't had any trouble with TWC internet for the 4 months that I have had it. I was having trouble with Windstream so I made the switch.
