Is there a way to find a home's true value prior to making an offer?

I've tried Zillow but the data is way off the mark most of the time.

Anyone ever use electronicappraiser.com?

Thanks!

SL

Hi Sara, your RE should be able to get your comps of similar property, sqftage. Also, sometimes you can look at the assessed value (not always the best indicator but a starting point). Some counties (like Mcek) have RE the tax assessed value online where you can look it up by parcel, address, owner, etc.

I don't have any links, but I found it from googling...

When you are interested in making an offer on a home, your realtor should be able to assist you with determining a fair price -- by analyzing comparable properties sold in that area and providing you with the information.
