Developers are planning four residential projects in Charlotte's NoDa arts district that are expected to add 600 apartments units in the next few years.
This will be ideal for students at UNCC when the blue is extended by 2017.

Complexes:
---The Yards at Noda located at 401 E. 33rd St will be open around summer of 2014.
They will have 340 units, including studio, one, two and three-bedroom rentals. Amenities include pool, fitness center, clubhouse, dog park.

---Mercury NoDa located at North Davidson and East 36th streets will be open around first part of 2015.
They will have 240 units, including studio, one, two, and three-bedroom rentals. Amenities include Pool, fitness center, game room, dog spa.
What is a dog spa lol Is it this https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...oSrM9q_49-bWuw

---Studio 6 located at 2724 N. Davidson St expected to open this summer.
This is a six condo unit and amenities include wait for it..... wait for it...
a garage. Hey but you also get bragging rights of saying you own a place in Noda and have a garage to keep your car safe in a still transitioning area.

---Johnston and Mecklenburg Mills located at 3315, 3327 N. Davidson St expected to open summer of 2014. That was a creative name unless it going into that old mill if so that would be cool then.
Mecklenburg will have 48 units in Mecklenburg, combining studio, one, two-bedroom apartments; undetermined number in Johnston. Amenities include studio space, outdoor social and recreational areas.

After years of inactivity, developers are beginning to build housing in NoDa again.

I agree, with that many people moving to NoDa they will need more shopping choices in the area. I just hope the area will hold a design aesthetic that is unique to the area.

I sure hope so, because I think it was in about 1998 when I first heard, "Get ready, because NoDa is about to explode".

Compared to 98 NoDa has exploded.

This one will be thermonuclear though.

I hope we see some of this activity spill over to North Tryon Street. The 1500-6500th block of North Tryon needs some serious help.
