I am thinking about moving to the York-Chester neighborhood of G'town. However, I am concerned about the area being surrounded by a big area of blight and pockets of blight within the area. How much has the Y-C area improved in the past 5 years?
Are you generally optomostic that the area will continue to gentrify, or do you think it will be stagnant? I know the schools are bad but that isnt a main concern I have right now.
I really like a house there, but I am concerned about being in a stagnant neighborhood. I am also a little concerned about being right near downtown Gastonia, a place that is going nowhere, and away from the rising star of the County: the eastern part. With all that said, I cant afford an older house in Belmont (a nice older house) and I dont like tract homes.
