Question Weekend at the Ballantyne - looking for romantic things to do in Charlotte

My husband and I are newlyweds who recently moved to the Raleigh area. Our one year wedding anniversary is on Nov. 11th and we have booked a room at the Ballantyne Resort and Spa for the weekend. (Please don't tell me the place is awful as the room is non-refundable so we're going regardless. )

As we have never been to the Ballantyne or the Charlotte area, I was wondering if anyone could give us some suggestions of some romantic things to do there. As we're driving from Raleigh, we'll have a car so no restrictions on staying close to the hotel. I think we'd like to go out to at least one really nice dinner but don't know where to go. Other than that, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Villa Antonio Italian Ristorante - Italian Restaurant in Charlotte Italian Restaurants Home (table Restaurant) Both in Ballantyne Village Ballantyne Village and Ballantyne Village Theatre. Also, Kilwin's fudge shop is now there too and they have some decadent desserts. There are also some nice places, as well as horse and buggy rides, uptown. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is a beautiful place to visit just over the border in SC as is Wing Haven Gardens in Charlotte. If you have the time, I suggest driving the 1.5-2hrs to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.

Ballantyne Resort and Spa is REALLY nice and Ballantyne is one of the nicest areas in Charlotte.

How nice of a dinner?

I would recommend Del Frisco's for an unbelievable dining experience. It's located in the Southpark area. They also have two lounge areas for guests.

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House

4725 Piedmont Row Dr
Charlotte, NC 28210
(704) 552-5502

Or as mentioned above. You could stay in the area, walk across the street to Villa Antonio's from your resort and have a killer meal and top notch service as well.

I suggest the Fig Tree as a nice, romantic place to dine : Charlotte Restaurants - Charlotte NC Restaurants - Fine Dining Charlotte

I've heard through the rumor mill that Table is up for sale. I doubt it will be around long.

Try 321 Great food and ambiance...The food is so fresh they do not even have a freezer on the premises. From the Resort have desk clerk direct you to Audrey Kell road, its about a/2 mile west of Rea Road on Audrey Kell. Weather permitting there is outdoor music. Inside very romantic...

Table up for sale? Is he selling the sister establishment Blue as well?

That place is always slam packed. If you ever want to go to an awesome mother's day brunch that is a great place to go.

Depending on what kind of food you like I would go with Upstream, Zebra, and I know its a chain but I am a big fan of Ruth's Chris's Sweet potato casserole... all of them are in South park..... which is around 20 minutes (depending on traffic) from the Resort.

Fig tree was nice also...
