What licenses are require to sell Aflac? If needed, does the agent or you pay for the required license?

got an interview with aflac tomorrow says its 53 % commission per policy and anywhere to 200 to 400 per policy i got friends in the oil field that own companies and if im giving up my contacts from the start then whats the point? they have everything they need then sounds like a scam

I have a walk thru on Thursday with Aflac. Can anybody tell me what can I expect and what questions to ask. Is this a company to work for?

I have an interview Tuesday with AFLAC and I've heard both positive and negative stories about this place. Do you make any money hourly? and is it all door to door sales?

It's 100% commission and you have to drum up your own business, whether it's door knocking, cold calling, or working your own rolodex. I wonder if there are alot of prospects out there who haven't been pitched several times over by Aflac insurance experts ()?

Does Aflac have a problem solving call center, known as Customer Service? I am not interested in selling insurance but I would be interested in a Customer Service position. What do you know of Alfac opportunities and the reality of working in such an environment with Aflac?

I was with Aflac for a number of years and even made a management position. I found Aflac to be heavily infested with nepotism. I was in an office that had a new rookie agent that took 10 times or more to pass the exam. In a scant few months this person was my manager, a DSC, and I had to show this person how to use the software and what policies to sell.
This person became a DSC because the regional manager, RSC was this person's spouse. To make matters worse the RSC dissolved other districts and put all those agents under their spouse the DSC. A DSC gets 10% override commission on all the agent's production. They really padded their wallets at the expense of others.
To make a long story short, if you are not related or good buddies with a DSC, RSC or better yet a SSC (state sales coordinator) things can be very difficult. The managers will hire as many new agents as they can get and then smack them up against the wall to see who sitcks. Since Aflac markets to businesses and these become a group the new agents will contract with a business and if they fail or quit the manager gets that group and all the new business from it.
I enjoyed working with the home office and the professionals there with the exception of marketing. The marketing department will allow most anything to go on in the field and as such an agent will find their experience very cut throat, unless they no someone. I personally saw a lot of good people get trashed in the process.
I hope this provides some insight to people looking at Aflac.

If you work with an Aflac agent and you go out and cold call together, and agent leaves but you are still working the account? Once you get the account, do you feel that agent you worked with should receive part of the commisions?

Thanks for the insight because i have an interview tomorrow in which i doubt if i go now,i need a job that pays by the hour not commission thats not guaranteed for me ,i have 3 kids and bills to take care of,theres no telling how long it will take for me to sell the insurance because im not a seller...thanks again for the heads up
