I'm with you. I don't think that law is accurate. I've had numerous massages from women and my wife gets them regularly from a guy.
Let me clarify . The law prohibits what is called a "full body massage" being given by the opposite sex and this law has been in effect since the early 80s... Vice cops often check the seedy looking places which may appear legal but have the girls "doing some sideline work" that they can not advertise other than inferring such things when they use descriptions like "sensual" and "all girl staff".There are lots of legal straight forward places that offer massages but they dont advertise like the other places do..and there will never be any "happy endings"..Check the sports section of our local paper and you will see what I mean.
CMPD did a big raid on these "massage" businesses in 2011 or 12 -- several located in respectable looking storefronts. Evidently, they just move locations. I think the ones that were closed down were maybe Asian-owned and one was run by a woman. Wish I could find more details.
And crestliner is right--there is some reg concerning opposite sex massages --but I think there is a distinction b/n licensed massage therapists and these other "massage parlors."
The neighborhood, as a whole, is on a big upswing, with lots of caring investment in the area, bordered by new development in the Metropolitan, the Greenway, and the Elizabeth corridor. I do not believe this signifies any kind of downturn.

I don't think so, either. However, a call to CMPD to mention that you have reason to believe that this is a massage parlor that may be an illegal type establishment may take care of the whole matter very quickly.

That type of business has been here as long as I can remember. This is nothng new.
Maybe if we weren't so uptight about sex, and not so inclined to impose our (often hypocritical) morals on others, this wouldn't be a problem. What happens behind closed doors shouldn't be anyone's else's concern.
