Folks,

Can you share any of your thoughts, concerns, issues with the Light Rail coming through Pineville? I am looking for any Pros or Cons, and any future benefits of the Light Rail in your community. I just want to stress, I am just looking for your thoughts and concerns, not looking to create a debate.

Thanks,

I will absolutely use it and love it. I plan on driving there from Fort Mill, parking and then using it to travel uptown to go to Checkers games. Cuts out the priceof parking and $3 a gallon for gas. I don't think it runs thru Pineville per se as the town didn't want it there which is why it stops. Would have been a great asset though if it could extend to York Cty.

Pineville still has a small town feel (at least west of the shopping mall). They didn't want the dense residential development that the light rail likely would bring. Or the trains coming across main street, which already has traffic problems. So the light rail stops well north of Pineville at I-485. It's still not too far away to drive from Pineville to the park and ride lot.
