Does anyone know if the track at UNC Charlotte located on University Blvd. is open to the public? I used to live in VA and the college tracks were all open to the public as long as there wasn't a track and field event going on. Was wondering if the same was the case down here.

Can you call UNCC and check with them? If you do find out I'd love to know as well.

Not even students (unless you are on the track team or other athletic team at UNCC) can use the track.

I've never had any problem... It's not the use of the track, but the use of parking that's going to get you.

You got a shot using it during the summer but forget about it from mid/late August to mid/late June - that track is busy with more than "track" but also soccer games, and student events. BTW as jeffrm mentioned - don't even think of driving there and parking - you will get ticketed very quickly if you don't have a parking permit.

May I ask why you inquire? If you are simply looking for a great place to run, I suggest the City's Northern greenway system. It IS public, starts at University BLVD and WT Harris, runs through campus and is somewhere in ten miles length? Besides being open to the public - it's surrounded by trees which might make running in the summer more bearable for shade provided (versus the open track at UNCC)
