Hi
I am looking to relocate from Michigan. I am tired of snow and no sunshine.
I have been a Cosmetologist for 16yrs.
I visited Raleigh and some people told me it was more affluent in Charlotte to make money in the spa business. Does anyone have any areas to suggest where people would be into spa services or resort type spas? I don't really want to be uptown, I just want to make a move towards the best economics. Michigan is not it!
Thanks, Melinda

There are day spas around the Charlotte region for sure. Why not google day spas and see the places you could send a resume to? South Charlotte would be a good bet for sure.

The Ballentyne Resort in south Charlotte I think has a very upscale spa.

If you open a shop in the Lake Norman area, I'll go. I like experienced people and lord knows I need a good colorist. I'm really getting tired of shelling out 100's of dollars and it not being right I guess the area would be Huntersville or Mooresville.

Thank you
It becomes a little scary reading posts about how people don't like living in NC. I didn't pick it from a magazine but I have tried to research if it has better opportunity than Detroit suburbs of michigan. i'm sure there is no ideal place to live that I can afford.

True, no place is perfect. I think people need to have reasonable expectations. But the Charlotte area, and most of NC/SC for that matter, is one of the better places in the nation in which to live. A1m1700 has a good suggestion if you want to go solo. The Lake Norman area has some very affluent areas and would be a great place to to set up shop.
