My husband and I recently moved to the Fort Mill area and found out we are pregnant for our 3rd. I have had 2 previous c-sections and would really like to try to have a VBAC. I know it's possible, but I'm having a tough time finding an OB that is supportive of this. I recently went to my first Dr. appt earlier today and was told flat out that I would not be allowed to even attempt a natural birth. The Dr. had not examined me yet, nor had she looked at the circumstances surrounding my previous 2 births. I've heard doctors will often base their decision on a case by case basis, but I didn't feel that was the case here obviously. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for OB's in the Charlotte/Fort Mill area who are VBAC supportive or will at least consider it before shooting me down. Thanks in advance.

Piedmont GYN OB has offices in both Steele Creek and Ballantyne. They are VBAC supportive and have 3 or 4 midwives on staff who would be very interested in helping. They deliver at CMC Pineville. If a midwife was on rotation the day you go into labor, a doctor would also be there just in case you needed a C Section. I went through this with them and they are very open and supportive of VBAC.

Contact Angela. She is on my mom group (CharlotteMommies) and very passionate about VBACs. She is a doula but even if you aren't considering hiring one she does a free consultation and will point you to the best OB for you. Good luck.

I contacted them earlier today after reading your response, and they will not do a VBAC after a second cesarian either. But thank you for your advice.
