I don't think I would want to go after him. Too wishy washy......."I want to stay in orlando. I want out of orlando. I want to stay. I want to go. I want to go to New Jersey or Dallas. I'm going to L.A.. I don't want to stay in LA. I'm happy in L.A. Houston would be a good fit for me." Someone will give him his money, but I think it would be a very harmful situation. Especially considering we have a lot of young players on this team. He is not the person I would look to as a "leader".

I wouldn't want Howard either. I don't think he will ever win anything as the undisputed leader of a team. He will need another superstar player that actually has some mental toughness in order for him ever win a championship. I wouldn't even be surprised if he went to Houston in order to play alongside James Harden so as to take some of the pressure off himself.

Of the free agents out there I would rather Chris Paul come to Charlotte. He could help develop the young guys and attract another star player to the team in a year or two. Has about a zero percent chance of happening though.

Yeah I don't think there is any chance we get Paul as the market for a player of his caliber is through the roof, however a player like Howard coming off this past season might be looking to land some where he'd be the man again like in Orlando, which is where he seems to excel. It's how you build the team around him that would be critical.

I'd just love to see a marquee free agent seriously even consider the Hornets but I also know you build a sustained winner through the draft, unless you are the Miami Heat and can lure a group like that together, which is never going to happen on a small market team like Charlotte.
