Hi everybody, we have an above ground pool with the filter cord plugged into an orange extension cord which is plugged into an outlet on a covered deck- is this safe? Or do I need an electrician to come out? Thanks!

Is the outlet a GFI outlet? If not, get that upgraded ASAP. Call an electrician.

How long is the extension cord?
How many amps is the pump?
You will need the right sized extension cord plus taking the length of it into consideration otherwise if the cord is your standard 15a home depot 100' cord, then you will probably run the risk of overheating it and causing a fire.
GFI outlet a must!

Prob just easier and safer to hardwire a second outlet where you need it.
