I have lurked on this site for about 10 months now. We first decided last Dec that we wanted to move to NC. We have visited several times with this past June being the most recent. It will be myself, my husband and our 3 boys (ages 14, 6, 4). My husband has all his contacts for transferring with his current company when the time comes. We have been waiting for an estate settlement to help afford the move. We are moving from CA, but don't currently own our home. We just got word that it appears that their has been an agreement on how to settle the estate and it should be settled by the end of the year. It's not much, but enough to pay for moving costs, closing costs, and a small cushion until I get my business up and running again (I am a licensed home child care provider). Our plan is for my husband to put in his transfer request for after the 1st of the year since I want him here for the holidays. In Jan or early Feb, we will contract for the house to be built with the goal of moving in either June or July. Our kids get out of school June 1st here so that should give us enough time to get out there, get settled, and get them registered to start the new school year. I have gotten sooooo much information from everyone who posts and responds here. I just wanted to say thank you for everything. I'm sure I will have quite a few questions of my own as we get closer.
