Southern cities don't have large Jewish communities like up north. Things may be changing gradually but in my county high school in the 1980s I think there was one Jewish student.

I think that this is an odd thing to get out of joint about. After living in the South Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia for over 40 years, I never heard of such a thing.

Wait until he finds out the schools don't shut down for the Jewish holidays.
My faith is very important to me. Given that my people have endured persecution over the millennia, it is important that other faiths recognize us. Would one be a troll if he inquired about St. PATRICK'S Day?

I find this not only odd, but also disrespectful to the Jewish community.
I don't foresee a good end to this thread.
Thanks for bringing religion here and shoving it to everybody's face. I like Jewish folks, I respect all that people endured during 2nd world war. But I won't respect somebody who tells me that he/she deserves respect.
Also why not have a salute "mullets day" or salute "blonds day" they have also been abused...and I know couple of them demanding respect from everybody.
Also... If its religion you love...it has nothing to do with a country. Arrange for a "respect Judaism day" and march your self. Nobody stops you, this is free country.
