I went to a place I think it was in Cornellius, near lake Norman called Ferrucis Italian market. It is small, but I think they are expanding. They are originally from Brooklyn. It was a great little place. You could google the name to get the address.

Smile Italian Markets

I have heard that Ferruccis is great! http://www.ferruccis.com/ I hope it's one of those markets we had in Jersey, where you can go in and just inhale and smile....

It's been a couple of years since I lived in Charlotte (miss it, especially the diverse foods). Anyway, I would suggest Dean and Deluca at Southpark. If they're still the same, they had the best selection of meats, breads and baked goods...mmmmmmmmm (I'm hungry, already)

Ferrucci's is the way to go. The atmosphere is really cute and "authentic". They had everything from antipasta, Italian bread (which they get locally but brought a bread from Queens to a local baker to copy!) to meats and cannolis.

yep there was a article about them in the Charlotte Observer yesterday. They have decided not to expand as they do not think they could keep the same "feel".

Thought I'd bump this thread ...

I tried a few cannoli at a bakery or two, but haven't had a good one yet. Is there any place to get good italian cookies?
