Hi, I got an offer to relocate to Charlotte by the end of this year. The company that I work for is opening two new stores next year. My salary is 50k a year plus bonuses, last year I made 67k. I will relocate with the same salary, maybe bonuses a little less, I will say around 62k all together. My wife makes 27k a year. My concern is that if a relocate I might lose my wife's income, at least for the first 6 months while she gets used to and find another job. I have two kids (8 & 3). This income will be enough to support my family at least for the first year? How about schools for the kids? anyone has an idea how much a pre-school costs? I was thinking to live in the border of South Carolina, maybe Fort Mill, or Indian Land. I heard taxes and housing is cheaper there. How much utilities bills, electricity, water, cable. What about car insurance? Is cheaper in SC or NC?..The company is paying me for relocation expenses, I think is a good opportunity, but I would like some advice for people who lives there. any help will be appreciated.
