The newly rebuilt HT in Plaza-Midwood has a decent little lounge area upstairs with wifi courtesy of the Starbucks directly below it.

We must have a nice sized group of "work at home" folks!

We should do a "bring your laptop/iPad meet up" one morning.

How about you all PM me how to work from home so I can de-slave myself to the office-based corporate world? But make sure its by PM, I don't need everyone knowing the secret.

All jokes aside, starbucks would be my first choice, too.

LOL!!! I started my own business in 1992, so that is how I de-slaved myself. However, having myself as my own taskmaster is the WORST kind of servitude!!! If I don't make it happen (whatever "it" is that day!) then it is all on me! If I don't produce, there is no paycheck.

So no secret about that . . . start your own business.

Now, forging a relationship with an employer who makes provision for telecommuters . . . that is a whole 'nother ball of wax. Maybe you will get a few PMs on that one.

Where ever I like to the ambiance enough to sit down - since I use my phone's hotspot to connect my laptop/ipad...

However, most of the times in my travels I look for Starbucks, some stores are better than others. Even there I use my phone for wifi, unless LTE is not available.

Yes - Julia's for sure. One of my favorite CLT gems (I haven't gone there to work, so I didn't think of it initially). Plus, they have some of the best iced coffee in the city.

That's the 1BAC urban garden. They have private wifi for bank employees there, but you may be able to get the TWC wifi signal there too.
