Smile Relocated to NC

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have just purchased a home in Gastonia. Hubby moved down in July to start his job and I stayed back in PA to sell our house and finish my job here. I will be moving down right after thanksgiving and can't wait! Any good advice on job opportunities? I have a 4 year degree in Communications and was thinking of trying the Lateral Entry teaching route--any thoughts? Also, any big Steelers fans near us? My husband and I love to watch the games (although not happily recently). Looking forward to meeting new friends in the South!!

Based on our recent playing I almost have to agree--almost--love my Steelers! Since I am moving to NC I feel it is only fair to adopt the Panthers as my 2nd favorite team.

I was raised in Gastonia and my parents live there. Loved growing up there (where did you guys buy your home?). Best place to look for a job is Charlotte. You're lucky. Gaston County has the easiest commute into Charlotte of any of the other suburban counties. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask!

My boss is born and raised in Gastonia, and has been a Steelers fan for most his life for some odd reason. I should give you his number haha.
Gaston County is a better commute into Charlotte, I agree with the last poster. You'll have much better luck finding such employment there, but don't let it stop you from looking in Gastonia, theres nothing like working right where you live.
