Any good restaurants in Charlotte that serve poutine? To be honest, I have never tried it before, but it looks/sounds good.

Here's an article from Charlotte Magazine listing some places that offer poutine or disco fries (not sure of the difference...never tried either one)

There's something wrong about putting lobster on french fries, even if it has a trendy presumptuous name.

The Peculiar Rabbit's version of poutine is really good, they use cheese and an oxtail gravy that's pretty great.

We have poutine at The Friendly Moose 4320 Potters Rd. Stallings NC, 28104
We do use mozzarella cheese. I have been trying to find a good curd cheese to use but very difficult here.

I have only tried it in northern Minnesota and when drinking one night in Montreal. To be honest, it is for those looking for a heart attack. It is a Canadian thing. I suppose when it is 40 below, it sounds good, but as a foodie, I can live without having my local favorite restaurants ever selling it. But I am not everyone and if you like cheese, french fires, fried curd, etc. for it. Oh yea, back to the subject, I had the fried curd and cheese version and thinking of it makes me want to puke. I have no clue where they sell that crap. LOL. If you want to buy some, I suggest that you look at the restaurants where you see 300 plus pound eaters with northern and/or Canadian accents exiting.

Even in Quebec, it has only recently become a foodie/tourist fad. It used to be mainly found at truck stops.

Doesn't sound much better than putting chili & cheese over Tater Tots.

Some people I know like to eat this.
