Big snow seems to be very localized here, I remember one year in Union County, maybe 1999 I think? There was 4 inches of ice one day then a foot or more of snow on top of it the next....they called it a white hurricane due to all the damage from falling trees and power lines. My power was out for 3 days and my cable for a week.
Charlotte only got a few inches during that storm but Monroe was pounded.

This year's long spring and milder summer temps have been great but the humidity and rain have been a pain in the a$$...

No THANKS! I wouldn't move south again for all the tax savings in the world. But I am glad you guys are getting a decent summer for once.

Didn't you hear? With global warming changing climate patterns Charlotte is now the new Costa Rica! Green and lush everywhere. I expect sloths to show up sometime soon.

Look at a globe and you'll see that the southeast US is a bit unusual. Most places at this latitude (North Africa, Arabia, western India, the western US) are deserts.
Rather have the 90F days anyday than the awful mugginess we've had. Our lawn was starting to go mouldy in the shaded areas and everything felt damp. Banana palm is thriving though!
