We are considering moving to Charlotte from the Boston area. We have done some research on the schools in South Charlotte. We have a son with slight learning disabilities. But, he gets great special education services where we are now. I can't seem to find any information about Individualized Education Plans (IEP) or special education services in any of the schools. It seems like most of the 'great' schools concentrate on their test scores and their talented and gifted program. Is there anyone out there that can give some perspective on special education services in this county. Thanks.
I'm in Union County, having a rough time with my daughter's IEP and her school. I would suggest trying CharlotteMommies.com--Charlotte's Mom-to-Mom Connection (or if you're a dad there's CharlotteAreaDads.com--Charlotte's Dad-to-Dad Connection )
I have gotten some wonderful advice from the sister group unioncountymommies. They have fourms similar to city-data, and on the union county one there's a section specifically for special needs kids.
