Amelies French Bakery Not sure if they have Strawberry but I'm sure something could be arranged if you wanted. This is a true French Bakery and it is quite addictive.
Thanks for the advice! I've ordered from Suarez. Amelies was a little too fancy - I don't think they wanted to do my southern styled Strawberry Cake.
If it's a true Spanish/Mexican Bakery, check to make sure their meringue frosting is made with cooked egg whites and not raw like what we ate in Miami. I am pretty sure they cook it but with your wife's pg, it's good to make sure. (that is if the cake even has the typical meringue frosting)
Alittle outside Charlotte but we love the Strawberry pie's at the Peach Stand. They have one made with whole strawberry's and one that is a strawberry cream made from fresh strawberry's.
We love the Bread Basket in Matthews/Charlotte. I can't remember if they have strawberry but if they do I'm sure it's great. Everything I have had there is amazing. My favorite is the Chocolate Kalua Cake.
Strawberry charlotte cake is my favorite one, and, to my mind, is even better, than the one with apples, so I truly understand the wife, who 'ordered' it for her birthday. I think, that the best idea would be to cook this one and present a homemade charlotte cake. Of course, it depends on your cooking abilities, but I would appreciate even an attempt.
