I watched the first episode of the new season of Project Runway earlier today, and was pleased to see Belk is sponsoring the show this year! I think it's a good move - Tim Gunn, the mentor to the designers, mentions the company name several times each episode, and one of the challenges will revolve around designing something for Belk.

I missed this episode, but enjoy the show so will have to catch up.

I agree - nice to see Belk as a sponsor.

Maybe Tim Gunn will visit Charlotte!

I thought it was cool too and very proud I wish I knew what Belk stock was before the show it at healthy 49.55 now.
This is real good news for anyone in Charlotte area working in their e-market division.

I forget what they are giving to the winner but it something nice
I guess Sandro used the most Belk accessories this past week but he should been booted for showing down there.

This is real good news for Belk. This probably the oldest company of the region yet always been fashion forward.
For anyone new to Charlotte they was founded in Monroe 1888.
Here is their history. http://www.belk.com/AST/Misc/Belk_St...Us/History.jsp

Belk is trying to develop a more modern, trendier image to better compete with Macy's who does this very well. Part of the reason they replaced their classic logo with the modern, lower case version similar to Macy's and Bloomingdale's. And adding the Cam Newton and other celebrity lines. And for their part, Federated merged all of their regional names such as Hecht's, Rich's, Burdine's and Lazarus into one national Macy's brand. And they have been using celebrity endorsers such as Tim Gunn successfully for years. And now part of Belk's new marketing strategy as well. Smart move.
