Well, i do like Sprint, have been on them for years. They dont have the S4 Active. I want to switch to this before we move, but it will have to be with Verizon I assume
Ah Sprint... I've been with them for 12 years now. Last week I had 5 cell towers around my neighborhood with partial service. I couldn't send or receive texts or calls. Zero bars on all phones. I'm waiting for an AirRave to see if it can give us at least 5 bars at home. I wouldn't mind switching but I think every service has its quirks. I'll stick with what I know for right now.
If having the best coverage EVERYWHERE you'd want to go with Verizon, but you'll pay dearly for it. At&t would probably be in the same boat at least in this general area, but Verizon's nationwide coverage beats everyone IMO.
If you want to save some money and don't need 4G LTE every single minute of your drive through all areas of the country, you might want to check out T-Mobile. You can't beat their pricing for pre-paid service and their coverage hasn't left me missing Verizon, Sprint or Virgin Mobile (I've used only those though) yet. It has left me with about an extra $90/month in my checking account though on my two phones ($60 with Tmobile vs. $150 with Verizon).
Verizon and AT&T by a close second. However if you're trying to save money, StraightTalk might be the way to go. Most of their phones use either Verizon or AT&T towers. Unlimited web, text, and talk for $45 a month. Only word of caution is you will be paying the retail price for the phones, especially the smart phones and customer service is lousy.
Verizon does seem the best but you pay for it. People who have ATT seem to tolerate it, but they seem to have a lot of dropped calls. Tmobile good in Charlotte but sketchy outside the city limits.Tracphone actually seems decent in Charlotte if you only need occasional use without mobile web.
I've been with Verizon since the mid-90's (I think they may have been bell Atlantic when I got my first phone). I have never had a problem with their service here, and I used to travel all over the country for work and, honestly, rarely had a problem with their coverage anywhere.
Why use verizon and pay more? Maybe it is because they have fancy buildings located on prime real estate and someone has to pay for all that you know. I chose CONSUMER CELLULAR . They use the same cell towers as verizon, their phones are much cheaper yet they can do every thing the high buck ones from verizon can do. Some people like wasting money and oh yea NO CONTRACT with consumer cellular. Why would anyone want to sign a legal binding long term contract just to have a friggin phone?Go to the nearest sears store and check them out. I bet verizon doesn't offer a cell phone plan for 10 bucks a month...lol
Verizon just started a new prepaid plan similar to T-Mobile. $60 per month for unlimited talk, text and 2GB of data. $70 for 4GB of data.
I like the $30 T-Mobile plan much more than either of those but I use text and data a lot more than talk.
