How are you Charlotte/Cary folks enjoying Trader Joe's?
Did the new one in S. Charlotte open up yet? Just wondering. I visited the Trader Joe's website and it looks like it did and that there's a new one being built in N. Charlotte. Just wondering if you're enjoying it and for those that have moved from other states, how is it comparing to the ones there? How is the selection and prices? Comparable? I'm in NE OH; have not been to any yet at all, there's two that are within an hour of me. I'm really excited about going to one as I've heard nothing but great things. Wishing everyone a great day!

Went yesterday and HATED it. The parking sucks, there are too many peole, the lines are too long, the store is a mess, and worse yet there are a lot of things they don't carry in an organic version, like regular old salad. Not to mentiion when they first opened, their conventional bananas were 19 cents per pound. Now they are 19 cents per BANANA. Luckily, I still have Earth Fare, the Fresh Market, and a small organic market and cafe near me, and the HT near me carries a HUGE assortment of naturals and organics, as does the new Bloom which recently opened.

Wow! I'm really sorry that it was so bad. I can believe the crowded parking lot and too many people; I guess that happens when something is perceived to be popular. Yesterday was Sunday and I know that around here Sundays are very busy shopping days. The banana thing, with 19 cents a banana, that's getting a little pricey. Also, I was also hoping that they carried more organic items. Glad that you have the other stores around you that you mentioned; hopefully, the Trader Joe's that you went to will get better products as they have to compete with the other businesses that carry similiar fare. May I ask which Trader Joe's you went to? (S. Charlotte or Cary)? Thank you.

Donna7 - groove1 probably went to the S. Charlotte location. Cary is outside of Raleigh. That's quite a drive!

Yes, I went to the South Charlotte one. I just don't see what the big deal is when they are so many better stores offering more in the area. I know TJ's has cheap prices on some things, but overall it isn't a good shopping experience.

Where is the "new Bloom?" I am not familiar with that store and would like to find it. Can anyone direct me? I am in S. CLT.
Went by TJ's and decided it was so crowded - thought I would try it later. Sad to hear things are not what I expected.

I don't get the Trader Joe's hype either but hey, to each his own.
The new Bloom is in Fort Mill. There are a few others in the Charlotte area.

Thank you again, NC Girl, and all - thanks for the feedback. For the ones that don't care about Trader Joe's, I can understand that too; everyone has different things that rock their boat, so to speak. For me, because of our large family, buying groceries is a huge thing; I was also looking for a place to buy more organic food at a decent price.
