Anyone tried this place yet? It is in the same plaza as HT, DQ and Chipotle (Matthews Festival?). Seems to be like Uncle Maddio's.

I have and my group liked it. There are coupons attached to the latest Matthews-Mint Hill Weekly for a $5 pie so see if you can grab some of those before you go.

We tried pizzas and a salad. They make the salad bowls out of pizza dough that is then baked into a bowl shape. It looks cool but it's not tasty like a taco bowl is, and I'll probably stick with just the pizzas in the future. I really like how customizable everything is.

They are going to sell beer and wine but they don't have their permit yet so for now they just have soft drinks.

I've tried both and Uncle Maddio's is much tastier than Piefive.
Pie Five seems like a Subway for pizza. Everything is precooked, including the dough.
I really enjoyed Maddio's. Crust was really tasty and not soggy. Toppings were almost all cooked or cut in the store. Really is a superior product.

Thanks, I was wondering if it was precooked or not. I don't like Maddio's all that much either, but at least their product is fresh.

I tried it - the crust was not impressive and the pizza itself is not as flavorful since everything is pre-cooked. But what else are you going to expect for being cooked so fast. They actually didn't let mine go all the way through the process - took it out before it got to the end. It tasted like that too - needed a little more cooking time. I can see the appeal in the place though - I think you're going to have some love it and some not.
