I am planning on doing a French drain by myself because I have a lot of standing water on the side of the house. I really want to ask if its legal in union county to connect French drains and down sprouts to the sewage line?

Thanks

I would think they wouldn't want storm water disposed into the sewage system. But even so, if you don't put a trap on every one of those drains, then you be rewarded with some nice sewer gas. It's quite aromatic on warm days.

I don't think the law allows a combined sewer system.

Just discharge it downhill where it won't impact a neighbor... No need to corral it into a pipe if you have some elevation.

French drains are generally not an ideal solution. They are oft constructed in lieu of a superior method, so take pains to ensure it is ideal for your predicament. If you have clayey soils a French drain is probably not gonna do what you want it to do. In my opinion.
